This class has been canceled for now due to restrictions and regulations to prevent the spread of disease and Covid-19. We will be issuing refunds to all that have purchased tickets and will look to re-schedule in future.
This workshop invites novices through intermediates to join the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and UW experts to learn about common trees and shrubs in Wyoming. We’ll discuss the basics of plant identification, and then work with fresh plant collections and dried specimens to distinguish different evergreen and deciduous shrubs and trees you might find at forest and rangeland sites, and in your own backyard. If weather and time permit, we’ll take a walking tour around the Botanic Gardens to see trees and shrubs on site. No previous botany or plant ID experience is required.
Instructors: Ernie Nelson (Rocky Mountain Herbarium), Kristina Hufford (UW Ecosystem Science and Management and Extension), Jenny Thompson (Barnyards & Backyards) and Dorothy Tuthill (UW Biodiversity Institute)
