Each Summer the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens offers two summer internship positions. These positions focus on public horticulture, public gardens, outdoor landscaping, as well as education and programming for adults and children. Gain invaluable practical experience working at Wyoming’s only public garden, and the world’s first solar powered public garden conservatory (1977).
We try to give each intern broad experiences in the following:
- landscape maintenance
- display design
- outdoor municipal displays
- greenhouse gardening and production
- pest control
- children and adult education
- working with people with different abilities
- working with community service youth and adults
- public relations
- volunteer management
We do our best to provide housing for our interns for the duration of the summer. Interns are paid $11/hour, for 40 hours a week. Interns are expected to work some weekends.
We are looking for highly motivated, personable, and bright college students or recent graduates willing to learn, and work with individuals from all walks of life. Applicants must be in good physical health, able to communicate well, and have a valid drivers license and good driving record.The February 1st is the closing date for all applicants. Qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews no later than the second Friday in February, so applying early is important.
