Stop by the gardens and enjoy the fibers and fabrics of Textile Art from Phillippa. This display runs from June 4th through July 28. We are open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sundays from June through August.

A native of Jamaica, Phillippa Lack was educated at a Presbyterian-Methodist girls’ boarding school, where hand embroidery was taught every day. She transforms and updates the traditional handcraft process by employing digital tools such as digital printing and Photoshop. Then, depending on her artistic intention for the piece, she adds machine stitching, hand embroidery, and/or beading to accentuate certain elements.

For over 35 years, Lack has exhibited at galleries across the US and internationally and has been featured in several books and magazines dealing with fiber. She was recently awarded an honorable mention in the Wyoming Arts Council Fellowship.
