Join Mary Whalen and learn how to decorate a 3ft. Guatemalan Kite. This class will explore the 3,000+ year tradition of celebrating Dia de los Muertos and kites in Guatemala.

Basic materials for the kite are provided. All you need to bring are photocopies of loved ones who have passed and photocopies of things they enjoyed.

Example: If your grandma/grandpa played or enjoyed music a photocopy of a guitar would be suitable. If they love flowers you can bring a photocopy of their favorite flower. 

Examples: photocopies of pets, the food they loved, musical instruments, books, or knitting and fishing. Anything that sparks a memory of your loved one photocopy it and bring it with you. You can NOT have too many photocopies or memories on your kite.

The main focus of the kite will be the photograph of your family member. All other images will surround your loved one.

This class is free and participants must preregister a limit of 10 people. The recommended age for this class is 16+
