SUMMARY:NARGS Conference - CLOSED
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Prairies \n\n\n\nNARGS is coming to Cheyenne\, Wyoming in 2025! Mark your calendar for your Wyoming adventure from June 12 to June 16\, 2025.  \n\n\n\nWhy Wyoming? Cheyenne is near the interface of the High Plains and the alpine wonderland of the Front Range\, Laramie Range\, and Snowy Range. Cheyenne’s elevation of 6\,068 feet above sea level gives it a great climate for rock garden plants. Intense sunlight\, clear skies\, and low humidity allow us to grow alpine plants that languish in warmer\, more humid environments. We can even grow some alpine plants that our friends in Denver cannot grow just 100 miles to the south and 1000 feet lower in elevation.  \n\n\n\nCheyenne is easy to get to because of its location near the center of the continent. Denver International Airport is just two hours away. Rent a car and plan to spend some time before or after the conference exploring Wyoming and adjacent states.  \n\n\n\nYou’ll be able to spend time at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens looking at the new Crevice Garden in full bloom\, and you’ll see our beautiful parking lot island beds planted with a wide range of water-wise plants. The crevice garden is full of surprises—plants previously not considered hardy in Cheyenne have withstood temperatures as low as -25°F and a sudden temperature drop from 43°F to 3°F in just thirty minutes. It’s truly an international garden where plants from South Africa harmonize with Wyoming natives and European plants found in the Alps grow alongside plants from the Northern Rockies. Crevice garden plants are beautifully adapted to wind\, which averages 13 mph in Cheyenne\, and easily withstand the hailstorms we experience every year. \n\n\n\nFor a full schedule of speakers\, events\, and field trips\, visit https://www.nargs.org/system/files/2024-12/Cheyenne%20rev.pdf.   \n\n\n\nLimited to 200 registrants.  \n\n\n\nCost $495.00; you must be a NARGS member.  \n\n\n\nYour choice of one of the optional carpool outings on Monday\, June 16 may be booked separately at  \n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne-botanic-gardens/nargs-june-16th-optional-tour\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne-botanic-gardens/nargs-june-16th-optional-tour-161-mile-journey-chalk-mountain-1653554719\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne-botanic-gardens/nargs-june-16th-optional-tour-snowy-range\n\n\n\n\nfor a separate fee of $30.00 that covers your lunch and a fuel stipend for those who are driving vehicles and who are willing to transport registrants. Each of these optional tours are limited to 30 participants and you must be registered for the full conference prior to registering for a Monday tour. \n\n\n\nPayment is by credit card or debit card at the time of registration and you will receive email confirmation. Payment and confirmation will be handled through TicketLeap. If you do not receive a confirmation email\, please contact Brandi Bingham at 307-637-6458 or bbingham@cheyennecity.org. \n\n\n\nRegistration is online only (no paper registration). \n\n\n\nImportant Dates \n\n\n\nFebruary 3\, 2025: Registration opens at 8:00 AM Mountain time \n\n\n\nMay 12\, 2025: Last day to register without a surcharge; thereafter registration will be $525.00 \n\n\n\nMay 12\, 2025: Last day to cancel registration with full refund less a $50 fee.

We recommend booking your tickets for NARGS and your hotels immediately due to other conferences that are in Cheyenne at the same time. This is a list of hotels we recommend that are close to Little America Hotel: My Place Hotel\, TownPlace Suites\, Microtel\, Day’s Inn\, Candlewood Suites\, Holiday Inn\, Fairfield Inn & Suites\, Everhome Suites Cheyenne. There are two departure areas for the buses. Busses will depart Lincoln Way & Cutler Road at 7:45 a.m. sharp. Busses will depart Little America at 8:00 a.m. sharp. \n\n\n\nFor a full schedule of speakers\, events\, and field trips\, visit https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:43491d91-2ae0-443e-ba76-78d7e33e861f  \n\n\n\nLimited to 200 registrants.  \n\n\n\nCost $495.00; you must be a NARGS member.  \n\n\n\nYour choice of one of the optional carpool outings on Monday\, June 16 may be booked separately at  \n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne-botanic-gardens/nargs-june-16th-optional-tour\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne-botanic-gardens/nargs-june-16th-optional-tour-161-mile-journey-chalk-mountain-1653554719\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne-botanic-gardens/nargs-june-16th-optional-tour-snowy-range\n\n\n\n\nfor a separate fee of $30.00 that covers your lunch and a fuel stipend for those who are driving vehicles and who are willing to transport registrants. SUMMARY:WYO GIVES 2025
DESCRIPTION:WyoGives is here! We’re participating for the sixth year in a row – this time to raise money to build the Education\, Agriculture\, and Trial Garden\, a hub for backyard gardening exploration\, learning\, and innovation. \n\n\n\nThe Education\, Agriculture\, and Trial Garden will be a place of learning\, experimentation\, and GROWING! The EAT Garden is a community concept that will act as a demonstration and teaching garden for visitors interested in backyard gardening for crops\, as well as ornamentals. It will act as a trial garden so that Southeast Wyoming can be at the cutting edge of testing and cultivating ornamental and crop varieties specifically suited for our unique climate and weather. And it will act as a community hub for gathering\, sharing\, and growing what nourishes us most – friendship and food! We envision growing crops\, not just for demonstration\, education\, and trial\, but to help address food insecurity in our community. All crops grown will be donated to organizations working to end food insecurity in Laramie County and Wyoming. Help us build this resource to benefit everyone! \n\n\n\nThe Friends of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens was established in 1993 to advocate for and support the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. We represent the private side of our critical public-private partnership with the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. Our work supports capital construction\, special projects\, the gardens volunteer program\, and staff development.
