The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens has a long tradition of employing college interns who come from out of town for the summer to work and learn about working in a public garden.
These students have gone on to become public garden professionals, run commercial nurseries, college professors, market farmers and horticultural therapists.
Because of the Botanic Gardens tight budget, interns receive minimal compensation, but they get a great experience. Each year we reach out to the community to see if anyone has a room or apartment for rent at a reduced fee, making internships more affordable. It not only helps a hard-working college student, it also helps the Botanic Gardens and the City as a whole.
