The Laramie County Conservation District has awarded the Paul Smith Children’s Village the Partner in Conservation for 2010. Botanic Gardens Educational Director Aaron Sommers says the Conservation District looked at how the Village shared resources and presented programs to the public. They were also recognized for maintaining resources, not using up resources and preserving the outside world. “The award from the Conservation District really just validates our educational program that we do with school groups on a daily basis and the public on a daily basis as well,” he said. The Laramie County Conservation District is a taxpayer-supported agency. It helps maintain and improve soil and water resources, wildlife habitat, agricultural production and more.
