Terms of Use

"It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on earth, and if we can
teach our children to honor nature's gifts, the joys and
beauties of the outdoors will be here forever."
— Jimmy Carter

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, located in Wyoming's largest municipal park, Lions Park, is Wyoming's only public botanic garden. It began in 1977 as the Cheyenne Community Solar Greenhouse. It was one of the nation's first large-scale, solar-heated greenhouses, built by volunteers. The project pioneered a garden that provided therapy and meaningful activity to seniors, youth at risk and handicapped volunteers, a tradition that continues today.
