Xeriscape Garden

God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools. -John Muir

You can find a number of xeriscape plantings on the grounds of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. Directly in front of the Conservatory is a planting of xeric ornamental grasses, shrubs and a large span of Legacy Buffalo Grass. Photo to the right.

In our 1700s Rotary Century Plaza area you can find two different xeriscape gardens. One is composed of native plants (shrubs, herbaceous and grasses. Another adjacent area you will find a more traditional xeriscape planting which is composed of a variety of trees with a majority of xeric evergreen plants which add more winter color to the site.

The 1700s Rotary Century Plaza is located to the north end of the Botanic Gardens Grounds across the street from the Old West Museum.
