New Orange Petunia

True orange petunias are rare until now. The new petunia variety “African Sunset” wowed the judges of the All American Selection organization. They found the African Sunset petunia to be superior to similar colored petunias currently available. Gardeners are always looking for a petunia that grows evenly and uniformly in the garden while producing a prolific number of blooms all season-long and this beauty certainly fills that need.

All-America Selections is an independent, non-profit organization that tests new varieties and then introduces the best garden performers as “AAS Winners.”

Many of their judges wanted this in plantings for their alma mater, so if your school colors include orange, this one is for you! Or perhaps a great choice for Bronco fans. The African Sunset petunia grows in a mounded manner and plants reach 12 inches tall and spread up to 20 inches.

Petunias are a great flowering annual for Cheyenne because they are good at bouncing back after a hail storm.
